Artists
Profiles
1. Ian James
I trained as a Commercial
Industrial Photographer and moved to Essex in 1965, working as a freelance
photographer both for commercial and private clients. During the last 12 years I have built a substantial portfolio of Fine Art Photography with
exhibitions in libraries and galleries in Essex. In April 2004 together
with my artist wife Josephine we opened 'The Estuary
Gallery', 85 Broadway West, Leigh-on-Sea' as a permanent showcase for our
work. My photographs now hang on the walls of both private and
corporate clients. I am passionate about
my work and spend many hours a week with my camera, tripod, and warm clothes
adding to our library of images. The main body of my work tends to represent the Essex area and I take much
inspiration from living by the sea, we have however started to photograph beyond the confines of Essex.
2. Josephine James
Josephine left College with an HNC in Fine Art, Sculpture and
Printmaking. Her work at this time included collage, large acrylics and
watercolour studies. Josephine teaches watercolour on the cruise ship circuit
and exhibits her work in corporate and
private collections with her watercolour studies reproduced in prints and fine
art cards that can be seen at our home studio in Westcliff and on this site.
